CONCEPT
The entire experience consists of one room, meaning we had to really think through the space. The brief was to create a futuristic, sci-fi bunker that represented a secure facility.
The result was a two story, open plan space, full of active screens, characters, and animated assets including the stylised plinths to represent each team.
This was all designed with the visuals limitations of a mobile VR headset in mind.
Development
The gamified aspect of SOC VR created exciting challenges upon delivering the multiple narratives alongside running dynamic and reactive systems. The systems included:
Menu Hub
Laser Pointer
Screen Interaction
Interactive Tablet
Time Limit
Multiple Choice Question
Leveraging optimisation techniques and being aware of the limitations of the mobile hardware. The focus was ensuring the sweet spot was achieved to deliver a stable frame rate and application alongside visually engaging graphics.
End Point Attack Scenario
A video of one of the scenarios included in Security Operations Centre VR, captured on a Meta Quest 2 headset.
Award Winning VR
In 2021, Security Operations Centre VR earned the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce: Excellence in Innovations Award.
